Warm Up America Project Update!

Its finally finished!!!!!!!!!! Hooray! It did take a while to complete but its done. This is one of those projects that I would pick up off and on. All I need to do now is weave in the black ends and wash it. Then is will be ready for donation!

Thanks to Cyndi and the random craftster who donated many squares to this afghan. One of the challenges of this project was sewing together squares that different people knit/crocheted with different gauges.

Hooray!! I've finished the last square for my Warm Up America Blanket! Now, I'm on the assembly stage. I have seven rows completed, I just have to connect the rows.

Inspired by the Holiday 2008 Vogue Knitting, I made some knitted bracelets. It basically involves knitting a long rectangle that is sewn over a plastic bracelet.

I got the plastic bracelets for $2.50 each at Claire's. And used remnants of yarn for the bracelet. I am happy with the way they came out! My favorite is the yellow one that resembles an onion ring. Its knitted in seed stitch. While finishing it up, our friend Mike pointed out that it looked like an onion ring and there's no reason to fight it because it does.

And now for a non-knitted addition! This is my Mardi Gras wreath. I haven't lived in Louisiana since I was a kid but we go with my parents every year to a Mardi Gras Ball. I made this last year, but then added on more bling this year. I just cut a few beads and wrapped them around and hot glued on some dablooms and whatnot.

An old guy that lives across the hall asked me if it was Christmas. Because, yes, I put up Christmas decorations in February only... Gosh! Where's the Mardi Gras spirit?!
